Small tools,
built to last

EMD Tools is an independent digital product studio building a growing ecosystem of evergreen web utilities.

Why microtools

A lot of everyday work is small, repetitive and oddly hard: printing barcode labels that actually scan, turning a spreadsheet of names into badges, issuing a certificate for a piece of art. The usual answers are a big app with a learning curve, or a template that breaks the moment your data does not fit.

We take one of those jobs at a time and build a dedicated micro-website that does it properly, then keep improving it until it is the best tool for that job. Each one works in your browser, gives you a result for free, and is built to keep working for years. That is the "evergreen" in Evergreen Microtools Development.

What we make

How we build

The same six rules apply to every tool we ship.

  • The tool is the page

Open a tool and it is right there, above the fold. No "Get started" screen in front of it.

  • Value before sign-up

You get a useful result before we ask for anything. If an account helps, we ask after you have saved real work, never before.

  • One job per tool

Each tool is a dedicated micro-website for a single job, so all our effort goes into doing that one job better than anything else.

  • Plain words

We write for a busy seller or organizer, not an engineer, and explain any jargon the first time it appears.

  • Fast and light

Static pages on a global network, with the work done in your browser. Pages load fast on an ordinary phone.

  • Honest

We say what each tool cannot do, never fake reviews or urgency, and announce any price before it starts.

Who runs EMD Tools

EMD Tools is a small, independent team. The tools are operated by Glenwhisper Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (HK Business Registration No. 76935415), which is the company named on each tool's terms and privacy pages.

Registered office: Unit 1603, 16th Floor, The L. Plaza, 367-375 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

We are not affiliated with GS1, Avery, Amazon or any other organization whose standards or products our tools work with. Questions, bug reports and ideas for new tools are welcome on the contact page; we read every message.
